苏巴什佛寺遗址位于库车市城西北18公里，地处却勒塔格山南麓库车河东西两岸。1996年11月，苏巴什佛寺遗址被国务院公布为第四批全国重点文物保护单位，2014年列入“丝绸之路：长安-天山廊道的路网”世界文化遗产名录。苏巴什佛寺遗址充分印证了新疆历来是多种宗教信仰并存，一教或两教为主、多教并存是新疆宗教格局的历史特点。
